A surreal feeling to see Wunder Nuggets at the Elementary School

This is SO surreal. I had goosebumps as I drove by my son’s school in the morning, and saw Wunder Nuggets up on the school marquee board. Unbelievably gratifying and such a good feeling. This is the fourth fundraiser we are doing with our booster club parent-teacher association, and I am so grateful that we are in the position to do so.

Quitting a full-time job and going to one paycheck is no easy deal. I took a leap of faith 3 years ago as I felt so strongly to solve that frustration of not enough well-balanced meal or snack options readily available. It hasn’t been easy, not one bit. The highs are great, but lows are really low. It takes a toll on you, and your mental & moral strength, every single day. Can’t binge watch Netflix anymore, haven’t done ski trips in 3 years or the kiddos field trips or socialize with friends and neighbors as much as I would like to.

But, today, when I see parents responding to how Wunder Nuggets solved that dinner rush or how it makes them feel so good that their kid (of they themselves) had a wholesome lunch without a fight - it makes it all worth it. All those Instagram direct messages and emails or texts - it makes it all worth it. It’s a small contribution at the end of the day, we are not curing cancer or anything big like that.. just bringing a few minutes of relief when one needs it.

What started as a dream of bringing healthier and tastier options to feed those tummies when in a pinch without sacrificing nutrition, is now a reality. It’s reaching homes and we are helping the planet one nugget at a time. How? Well, eating less chicken or meat and move vegetables means less impact on the environment (lesser soil degradation, biodiversity loss, lesser greenhouse gas emissions etc. Just google it.).
