Crafty Team Spotlight: Meet Maude

Crafty Team Spotlight: Meet Maude

Take a peek behind the counter and meet our Wunderful team. This week, we're introducing you to our Marketing lead, Maude.

First things first, What do you do at Crafty Counter? I’m the Senior Marketing Manager, which means I do all things partnerships, influencer marketing, social media and content creation, email and IRL campaigns, events (soon!), and anything else that will get our products from the store shelves to your home!

Favorite part of your job? Connecting with so many amazing humans who share our vision for a kinder future for the earth, the animals, and the people.

Why Crafty Counter/How did you get involved with Crafty Counter? I worked in the fashion industry for 5 years and like most people, I got burned out. I need a  job that’s purpose-driven and contributes to a better world. I was connected to Hema, the Founder of Crafty Counter, and her mission really resonated with me. I didn’t think twice before joining the team after our first conversation!

How do you start your work day? Checking my emails, always! (don’t we all?)

What has been your most unforgettable moment (good or bad) while building/working at Crafty Counter? Winning Battle of the Brands and sending Craft Counter on national TV! I jumped in on this campaign during my first week at CC and our team gave it all to bring it home!

How do you balance your life while working in a fast-paced environment? I make it a priority to take time for myself. Whether it’s a workout class, date night, or time with friends, I schedule activities that fill up my cup on a weekly basis to make sure I can show up happy and energized.

What’s your favorite way to start the day? Carving time for a sunrise beach walk always makes me feel energized. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, nothing can shake up my day! Also coffee, my ultimate happy moment.

What is your favorite thing to do in your free time? Spend quality time with friends, check out new wellness places in LA, move my body, sunset walks, weekend hikes, traveling to new places.

How do you unwind at the end of the day? Either a sauna session or glass of wine!

What’s your favorite cuisine? Do we really have to pick one? Pasta can do no wrong in my book, but I also LOVE Thai cuisine!

Who’s your celebrity crush? Zendaya - no doubt!

Favorite song at the moment? Emma Peters - Clandestina

Favorite way to move your body? Pilates & heated sculpt classes, or outdoor walks. At home, I love to take classes from Lia Bartha @bthemethod. Thanks to her flows, I really started to understand the mind/body connection and internalize movement. It’s very meditative.

Current show/podcast/book that you’re loving? I love listening to On Purpose by Jay Shetty on my daily walks, and anything involving CPG founders and entrepreneurs.

Fun fact about you? I have my motorcycle license (but never ride!).

What's the one item you can't live without? Sadly, my phone.

What’s your pet name (if you have one)? I have a British Shorthair cat called Callista. It means “the most beautiful” in Greek and I can confirm we’ve raised a vanity monster. Her being from Paris doesn’t help!

If you could have one superpower, what would it be? Teleportation. Having all my family and best friends in Switzerland and being far away from them is not always easy. I wish I could just get over there with the blink of an eye!

How long do you think you'd survive in a zombie apocalypse? 5 minutes. My survival instincts are sadly weak and my interest in living in Zombie land is very low..

If you could invent a holiday, what would it be? “Sleep like a cat” day. Would love to know what it feels like to be as lazy as my cat for a day.

What is your biggest pet peeve? Slow walkers. As a former New Yorker, I can’t deal with them!

What is one thing most people don’t know about you? Before moving to the United States, I was an equestrian rider for more than 15 years. I competed nationally and spent a year working at a professional stable in France, right after high school. It feels like a lifetime ago now, but really taught me a lot about work ethic.

What are you most grateful for? I’m most grateful for my health. While I have ongoing chronic pain issues, I will never take the fact that I can move my body freely for granted. This constant reminder has allowed me not to put too much focus on the bad days, and to keep it moving.

What does success mean to you? This might sound cheesy, but if people remember me for being kind and thoughtful, I’ll consider myself successful!

How do you live wonderfully? Be present! That’s the only thing you have for certain, so don’t waste your time dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. It’s a constant practice!

Thanks for reading through!

xxx - Maude
